We spent the day at sea trying to earn the last of those ShipShape dollars so that we could redeem them for stuff (we're suckers when it comes to things like this.. we'll do quite a lot to get free stuff). The activities were pretty quick and painless though. We generally did the morning exercises each day for a couple of ShipShape bucks (a good thing to do anyway after all the food we'd been eating on the cruise!), then random activities like this ring toss competition. Not a bad view while waiting to see if Herky makes the toss (I already struck out long ago). Herky came in 2nd place.

Although the buffets each night were all pretty good, the real showcase was the Gala Buffet, where the chefs went all out to not only create delicious foods, but to use food for sculpting amazing pieces. We joined in the frenzy of taking pictures of everything edible (it's easy to get carried away, but at least we didn't take videos of the food..). Then of course, we got back in line to actually eat the food. Scary amounts of stuff - a cruise is NOT the place to be on a diet - don't even try. Here are some samples. This picture features a miniature of our cruise ship sculpted from butter, floating in a blue jello sea with palm trees made of limes and carrots. Okay, so this one was more for show than for eating - we admit the idea of butter and blue jello is not particularly appetizing.

Flowers made with beetsThese flower petals are made from thinly sliced pieces of beets. Didn't see many people rushing to munch on these... guess the chocolate stuff tasted better. :)
